Ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream (for a vegan option, you can use dairy-free yogurt)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2-4 tablespoons water (optional, for desired consistency)
Instructions:
- In a blender or food processor, combine the avocado, chopped cilantro, Greek yogurt (or sour cream), minced garlic, lime juice, ground cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Blend until smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, you can add 2-4 tablespoons of water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. You can add more salt, pepper, or lime juice according to your taste preferences.
- Transfer the avocado cilantro sauce to a bowl or jar.
- Serve immediately as a topping for tacos, salads, grilled meats, or as a dip for veggies and chips.
- Tip: Any leftover sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Make sure to press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the sauce to prevent browning.
Enjoy your creamy and flavorful avocado cilantro sauce!
